Finally! We've made it to the GRAND CANYON....

but on the travel between the 4 corners and the Grand Canyon was just as exciting.
Look at the beauty of colors and shapes here....

We were hit with dust storms as we drove through some areas...

we let Grady and Barbie test out their paint job first.

You could see the storm everywhere.....


adding it's own excitement to things.
Every so often along the way I would spot dust devils...and there were many.

I was thrilled the kids got to witness just about ALL the aspects of God's creations and how they work.

GRAND CANYON TIME!

Ok mama, don't freak out about the next one, Barbie did enough while we were there : )...the kids were safe. This is one of the railed look out points.

and Barbie stands at another, but what you don't know is in her fear of heights she is talking to me through her teeth...hurry, Hurry, HURRY!!!!
Then she flees to her tree

and watches from the safety of the woods, next to the OTHER side of the walking trail.

There were some very stupid, very very stupid people at the Canyon...


did I mention there were STUPID STUPID PEOPLE?!! This guy had slid down about 20 ft. to get on this ledge. He had his wife/girlfriend do the same. She took his picture and he tried to get hers but she walked about 2 steps on the ledge stopped stood there then turned around (slowly) and came back. He must have been trying to get her to because she tried again, getting no further, didn't stay 3 seconds and returned to side. Not sure how they got back up because we didn't stay to watch.

Among the stupid people there were also ignorant ones. Some letting their small children play around the edge of the Canyon. One little old lady with a walking cane had slid down to get a better look I guess and as she returned to the trail, slipped and almost fell. We've never seen so many brainless folks in all our lives in one spot!!! The danger of the Grand Canyon is there are no safety rails, fence or the like except at the look outs, otherwise you are to use your GOD GIVEN BRAIN to be responsible for yourself and others which a lot of them weren't using.

There are an average of 4 people killed each summer, with the last few summers, 6 dying, due to accidential things to suicides.

The kids look as if they are sitting on the ledge, but they weren't....

Barbie and I were too panic stricken to allow them to be too close and this was close enough for us. They were in such awe of this magnificent place.
After a while of enjoying the Canyon we left for supper so that we could get back for the sunset, and we did. Everyone had returned in jackets, because it had turned cold and the wind was not helping things.
We settled into a spot...
and sat amazed at the Sunset.

but JoBea isn't old enough to see the beauty in it at this point of her life. I can see the awe inspiring work of Christ all over her.


You can tell there had to be a Great artist to paint these.
look how perfectly the colors are faded together from the sun setting perfectly by the artist to create such beauty. Wouldn't you agree that GOD IS THE GREATEST OF ALL ARTIST?!

As you can see, we went from beauty, to storm, to awe inspiring. Isn't this the way with life? We go through many good times, then a "storm" passes through to "sandblast" our being so we can appreciate the awe inspiring life God has set before us. He readies us to be able to enjoy HIM and what He has gifted us with.

We will all remember the magnitude of the Canyon, something pictures don't begin to touch. Knowing, to God this is only pebbles of rock to Him make me more aware of HOW BIG MY GOD REALLY IS!!!!
