Remember back when we painted Madge's room and had no flooring in it due to the mishap with the aquarium and the carpet had to be ripped out? Well, Lowe's finally had the flooring we've had our eye on, on sale. We got enough to do not only her room but all the room's with carpet...JoBea's b.room, our b.room, living room. We bought it Friday and immediately when Madge arrived home from school, she and Harold went straight to work. Within the first hour Madge was measuring what needed to be cut, marking the boards and holding them while her dad made the cuts (he wasn't brave enough to allow her to do that). This was there ever waking mission...GET THE FLOOR DONE. Sunday night, that mission was complete. Monday Harold moved on to JoBea's room. The room was cleared, baseboards removed, carpet and tack strips taken up....then back at it again. At some point when Harold was telling JoBea how to do boards to lock them in place, Madge pops out the bathroom door (that adjoins their bedrooms) and says, "let me show you how it's done JoBea", and commence to explain just what to do and when to do it.
Yesterday the floor was finished. JoBea has passed down her twin bed (the white one above) to Madge and is moving up to my old full-size bed. Harold and JoBea left a little bit ago heading to McComb to get a mattress for it. Next hitch Harold is in we should start on our bedroom and living room. The patience Harold has with the girls when they work together on stuff such as this, is a blessing to me. With his calm and patient attitude they continue to learn from him. I guess that's just how God is with us. He is patient, even tho we may run around in circles trying to figure, plot and plan....when all along he knows how the pieces fit. He just wants us to learn it for ourselves so it will be embedded in our minds. After hitting your finger with the hammer, cutting yourself on a hidden nail....all these obstacles that slow down the process at hand, is a learning tool, a growing experience. God allows these little things to happen in our lives so that we NEVER forget Him and to also teach us that with patience the pieces of His plan will snap together and fit quicker in place just as the flooring did. I'm so thankful that God is a patient God....and oh how patient He is...I pray that with EVERY obstacle you or I am faced with, we seek Him first and patiently wait (but continue to live life) on the next piece that will fit His plan.
Have a WONDERFUL day in Christ!
