There's our Lucky. She was a stray that wandered up to our home about 7 yrs. ago. At the time we had a cat named Oreo...she was black & white....Different times of the day and night we would hear Oreo loudly stating her position with this stray...but the stray would always slap Oreo and continue on towards the food, bed or whatever. When we would open the door this stray would run to the woods. After about 3 mths. of this, in desperation....because the girls didn't want Oreo to be run off....Harold and I decided he would get his gun and go to the back of the house towards the woods. Meanwhile I would open the kitchen door so this stray would run to the woods and Harold could get rid of it....this is not normal practice for us but she was being so wild and tormenting Oreo. Harold got ready and I opened the door, stepped out onto the carport and guess what happend? The stray that had been running wild, tormenting our cat, and running off like lightening when the door opened.....came to me, rubbed all over both my legs (you know how cats do), purred and never left. I yelled for Harold to come see...but not to shoot! He couldn't believe his eyes. There the cat was still doing the figure 8 around my legs. She allowed me to rub her and was very gentle. Harold and I figured she KNEW what was about to happen and decided she better straighten up or she would be paying the big price for her behavior. Henceforth she got the name Lucky....she is lucky to be alive. Lucky has given us some beautiful kittens, and now she has 1 daughter (we can't catch to have fixed...sound familiar?) that lives with us and at this time 2 grandkittens that are beautiful also. Lucky now feels she lives in the lap of luxury....being the Queen of our hill....

Here she is bathing and sunning on the deck of the pool.
She reminded me of how we can be. Running wild, doing what WE want to do regardless of who or how it may affect others...not caring....being self centered. Why wait until the end to "straighten up" and behave? We don't know when the end is anyway. Just as Lucky has found out...she wasted LOTS of time misbehaving ,therefore missing out on the thing she needed most....our love. If you are running..QUIT! Jesus Christ is there to love you and guide you to a more fulfilling life. Don't waste any more time...live in the lap of luxury with Christ.
May you allow Christ to have a WONDERFUL day in you!
